Na een overweldigende response op onze ‘call for speakers’ hadden we de luxe dat we konden kiezen. We hadden namelijk meer sterke aanmeldingen dan openingen in het programma. Met grote trots presenteren we daarom in vier keer de sprekers die we hebben geselecteerd om WordCamp Nijmegen van een sterk inhoudelijk programma te voorzien!
In dit bericht stellen we graag de laatste serie sprekers aan je voor. Hadden we het in vorige berichten al over variatie, deze laatste serie spant de kroon! Van Microsoft Azure tot taalkunde, en van het levensreddende WordPress tot wetenschappelijk onderzoek rondom tracking op websites. Deze serie sprekers heeft echt alles. Dus als je nog geen ticket voor WordCamp Nijmegen hebt, dan is dit de lijst die je gaat overtuigen!
Sprekers
Mike Rynart
Mike Rynart is a Web designer helping people build a faster web that works for everyone. Mike has been developing with WordPress since 2007. Over time, he has branched out his skills with responsive design, and a passion for Web performance. He spends his days helping companies to grow their business through fast and engaging websites, his evenings blogging about food and travel, and his nights dreaming about how to make tomorrow’s WordPress sites even better.
Michaël Hompus
Michaël Hompus is Principal Developer bij Winvision. Als Principal Developer leidt en ondersteunt hij verschillende teams die nieuwe en innovatieve oplossingen realiseren, bij voorkeur met behulp van de Microsoft Cloud. Michaël heeft vele jaren ontwikkelervaring met Microsoft Azure, SharePoint, Dynamics en Office. Zijn passie is het delen van kennis, zowel binnen als buiten de organisatie. Naast dat hij al jaren zijn eigen WordPress blog host m.b.v. Microsoft Azure, heeft hij ook voor klanten met grote WordPress sites onderzoek gedaan naar de verschillende mogelijkheden van het hosten van een WordPress site binnen Microsoft Azure.
Marieke van de Rakt
Marieke studied Sociology and Communication Sciences at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. She obtained her PhD in Social Sciences in January 2011. In 2013 Marieke started working at Yoast. She is the founder of Yoast academy, our online courses platform.
Marieke is now one of the partners at Yoast. Together with Joost, Michiel and Omar, she runs Yoast. Her main focus is on Academy and marketing.
Jaime Martinez
Jaime Martínez. Happy coder @ Level Level & long time WordPress enthousiast. Naast het organiseren van de WPMeetup010 & WordCamp in Rotterdam duikt hij graag op bij andere Meetups of WordCamps. Daarnaast draagt hij zijn steentje bij aan de Open Source community door mee te werken aan projecten zoals WP-CLI & Clarkson of toont zijn liefde via random Pull Requests.
Irene Strikkers
Irene Strikkers zette haar eerste stappen in de WordPress-community als taalwetenschapper. Al snel bleek ze het schrijven van code ook heel leuk te vinden. Daarom combineert ze tegenwoordig het aanvoeren van een van Yoast’s developmentteams met het nadenken over hoe de SEO-tools van Yoast zo goed mogelijk kunnen werken voor zoveel mogelijk talen.
Francesca Marano
Francesca is the WordPress Community Manager at SiteGround, web hosting company. She is also part of the WordPress community team, organising Meetups and WordCamps in Torino. She has years of experience as a small business owner, having transformed her passion for the web into a successful WordPress business. She published three books in Italian to help freelancers with business planning, productivity and websites. She also founded C+B, a blog with an editorial staff of sixty authors offering advice to more than 35.000 Italian female creative entrepreneurs that reads it every month. Francesca is a passionate speaker and you can find her in Italy and around the world talking about WordPress, community, open source, women in tech and small businesses.
Birgit Olzem
Birgit Olzem, or Coach Birgit as her friends call her, is a certified life coach. Her passion is WordPress and mentorship that comes from putting into daily practice the knowledge one learns. She specializes in private tutoring and user training for WordPress and Social Media. She is a serious developer in both front and back-end development and has spoken at WordCamps about the REST API, WooCommerce, WordPress as an App Framework, and choosing WordPress as a CMS. Teaching beginners is her passion, though she is far from it herself. Those in the Make WordPress community know Birgit from Polyglots and Training, as well as volunteering at local and international WordCamps. Since May, 2018 Savvii, Dutch WordPress hosting company, snapped her up for the role of Community Manager (D/A/CH region). When she’s not teaching or organizing a meetup or a WordCamp, you can find her spending time with her five children, her newborn grandson, drinking coffee, and occasionally taking a break wherever the sun will shine down, perhaps a convertible Opel Cabriolet on vacation.
